What Is VoIP & Hosted Telephony?
VoIP and hosted telephony replace traditional phone lines with cloud based calling delivered over your internet connection. It supports flexible working, improves visibility across communications and removes the need for phone equipment on site.
Because the system is managed in the cloud rather than in your building, changes are a setting rather than an engineer visit, and a power cut at the office does not take your phones with it.
Functions such as call recording, IVR menus and music on hold support training, compliance and a more structured caller experience. Recordings are stored securely inside the EU and are easy to access when needed.
CRM integration ensures calls are logged automatically, giving teams clear records of conversations and supporting better follow ups and accountability.
SMS messaging from your business number, including bulk sends, allows teams to send reminders, updates and notifications without relying on personal mobiles.
Keeping your numbers
Your Number Moves With You
The number on your van, your signage and years of search results does not change. Existing numbers are transferred across during the move and ring on the new system from the agreed cutover.
- Portability confirmed at review stage, before you commit to anything
- Ports from eir, Vodafone, Three, Virgin Media, Blueface, Digiweb and others
- Single numbers, blocks and DDI ranges
- Existing service stays live until the port completes
- Cutover scheduled outside your working hours

Common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is VoIP and hosted telephony?
VoIP routes business calls over your internet connection rather than traditional phone lines. Hosted telephony means the phone system is managed in the cloud rather than on equipment at your premises.
Do I need new phones to use VoIP?
We provide new VoIP desk phones as part of the setup. This avoids compatibility issues and allows the system to be configured and supported properly from the start. Where you already have recent SIP handsets, we will tell you honestly whether they can be reused.
Can staff make and receive calls remotely?
Users can take business calls on laptops or mobiles using approved apps, with calls presenting the business number rather than personal numbers.
What happens if the internet connection drops?
Call routing options such as mobile failover or alternative routing can be configured so calls are not lost during an outage. The phone system itself is not in your building, so it stays available regardless.
Is VoIP suitable for small teams?
VoIP scales up or down easily, making it suitable for small teams as well as growing businesses without complex changes.
How much broadband does it need?
Around 100 kbps per simultaneous call, so raw bandwidth is rarely the issue. What matters more is stability. We test the line before recommending anything and prioritise voice traffic on the router.
